The Well-Tempered Clavier is widely regarded as one of the most important works in the history of classical music and second part of the concert features two of Bach’s most famous keyboard concertos along with his famous Air on a G. For this concert St George’s will be transformed into a candlelit auditorium taking us back to St Jakob’s Church in Köthen, Germany, where JS Bach worked and composed many of his compositions.

Andrei Gavrilov has spent the last three years immersed in the Well Tempered Clavier and brings this deeply personal journey to St George’s Bristol. ‘By decoding Bach’s musical-mathematical cognitive structures, I realized the true living Bach, and, in the process, I became a more Well-Tempered Man. But the real miracle of the WTC is that it can make anyone more “Well-Tempered”—if only they take the time to listen, to learn, and to become truly Aware of it.’ – Andrei Gavrilov
