BCP celebrate their 15th anniversary with BEETHOVEN+: all nine Beethoven symphonies over five concerts, each including a new work by a composer from the Bristol area.
The cycle begins with No 1, in which Beethoven displayed his willingness to break the rules. We follow it with No 3, the Eroica – in which Beethoven DID break all the rules, in creating the single biggest leap forward in the symphony’s history. Before that, Steve Pain’s Apollonian Overture is the first of our five showcase pieces for local composers, tonight receiving its first performance.
