Clifton College: Joseph Cooper Concert

The talented musicians of Clifton College return for their annual trip to the concert platform of St George’s in Spring 2024 to showcase performances of the highest instrumental and vocal standards. A wide variety of genres will feature in the programme, including works by Beethoven, Brahms, Moszkowski, Piazzolla, and Henry Mancini, the Sinfonietta of African-American composer Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, alongside more contemporary fare.

The classical style will be represented by items from our scholars, several of whom are also enrolled at the Royal Schools of Music in London and Birmingham, as well as chamber musicians in duos and trio, and the ambitious String Ensemble. Chamber Choir, Symphony Orchestra and our new Big Band offer a wide variety of contrasting styles, with the finale featuring 3 vocal soloists with our enlarged Jazz Orchestra. With students from Prep School to Sixth-Form taking to the concert platform, the evening promises to be one of both musical excellence and enjoyment.
