Singer-songwriter Ellie Gowers blends a critical eye with an openness and sensitivity reminiscent of the 60s folk revival scene – no wonder she’s beginning to make a name for herself, earning a TEDx talk on the back of her single Against the Tide, and being included in the lineup of the Filkin’s Drift Ensemble. Her songs are built from a childhood love of literature and traditional folk, but also grow out of modern themes. She started 2022 writing music for BBC Radio 3 and will be touring the UK as Blair Dunlop’s special guest on his 20 date UK spring tour. In late Spring her highly anticipated debut album Dwelling by the Weir is set to be released. Weaving the past, present and future, the album explores the folklore, stories, and people that made her home county of Warwickshire what it is today.
