Jasper Høiby’s 3Elements + Uphill Game

This event has passed.

As the founding member of Phronesis, one of the most talked about European bands of the last decade, Jasper Høiby now returns with his new piano trio 3Elements.

This is brilliant musical interplay, both melodic and visceral, featuring piano prodigy Chaerin Im from South Korea and the uniquely eclectic drummer Jamie Peet from the Netherlands. Høiby has gained a reputation for his fresh and exhilarating approach to jazz, blending intricate compositions with spontaneous improvisation.

Opening the evening is the quartet Uphill Game, one of Bristol’s best-kept jazz secrets. Led by double-bassist Riaan Vosloo, the band also features members of Get The Blessing and 6161, and, for one night only, very special guest Ed Jones on saxophone.

“The brilliant bass player, Jasper Høiby, outstanding music” Giles Peterson

“Høiby fashions his pieces so the lines between freedom and form are beautifully blurred, the
music flows as a tumultuous organic whole – everything belongs, nothing is forced.” Mojo
