Join Samantha Lindo in this brand new series of relaxed daylight gigs – a chance to hear artists close-up and pared back in an informal setting.
Lindo is a Bristol-based singer-songwriter and multi-disciplinary artist – she has an extraordinary, ‘hauntingly flawless’ voice. Her sound world encompasses spiritual jazz, soul and spoken word and is influenced as much by classic artists such as Marvin Gaye, Carole King and Minnie Riperton, as contemporaries like Cleo Sol, Robert Glasper, Jordan Rakei and Kae Tempest.
Her recent album Ancestry, which explores dual heritage identity, intergenerational healing and climate justice through her family history, has been championed by Gilles Peterson, Jamie Cullum and Clash magazine.
Lindo released her album and had her first baby within a few months of each other. She attended the first ever Mothers in Music meeting and found a place of solidarity, inspiration and support. She says: “I’m so excited to kick off the Lightime Music series this autumn to enable everyone to access beautiful live music, whatever life stage they’re at.” Children welcome.
