In this brand new series of pre-evening musical exposés, the irrepressibly inventive Brodsky Quartet deconstruct one of Beethoven’s most notorious later works, the String Quartet No 15.
This quartet, written in 1825 after Beethoven had almost died from an abdominal disorder, seems to hold within it – especially its famous third movement – both an intimacy with death and a bounding joy for life. The Brodsky Quartet will delve beneath the skin of this extraordinary work, discussing and demonstrating its different musical elements, before performing the piece all the way through.
Approximately 75 minutes straight through without an interval.
We’re delighted to partner with the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust to introduce young people aged 8-25 to the live chamber music experience. A limited number of tickets for specially selected events is available when you see the ‘CAVATINA’ mark. For more details, visit www.cavatina.net
