This is a true creative experiment bringing together children from 3 local schools, a community poetry group, professional musicians from a variety of backgrounds and tutors from the Preludes Music to produce a piece of music with 4 sections, each one written by each group of participants from the local community.


Preludes Music & Bristol Ensemble with: Bristol Reggae Orchestra, Mamadou Cissokho and Suntou Susso, Troyka, Malizah schools: Easton CE Academy, Redfield Educate Together, St Nicholas of Tolentine RC.

Symphony of the World takes you on a musical a journey across the globe, a celebration of the wonderful diverse communities and musical traditions residing in our city of Bristol, culminating in two electrifying performances at Trinity Arts on 18th November 2024, and St George’s on 25th November 2024. The concert at St George’s also features performances by Bristol Reggae Orchestra, Troyka, and the Bristol Ensemble with Kora player Mamadou Cissokho.

The Bristol Ensemble is a Bristol based orchestra founded in 1994 by Roger Huckle. Bristol Ensemble is a collective of specialist musicians that collaborate to provide the highest calibre of performance for a wide range of audiences across Bristol and the South West. Preludes Music is an education outreach initiative dedicated to bringing high quality live music to children who would otherwise be unable to access it. Our programme encompasses activities ranging from individual and small group tuition to whole classroom music lessons, orchestras, choirs, holiday clubs, performance opportunities and a plethora or enriching cultural experiences.
